NOTICE TO PLANHOLDERS
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
AIRPORT SECURITY SCREENING BUILDING

ADDENDUM NO. 2
I. Clarifications to various bid specifications and
requirements from questions received from contractors:
- Correction to contact information for the toilet
partitions in Section 10171 Part 2, Section 2.1 item B. This item should be Service Oriented Sales,
Attn.: Max
Morgan (714) 662-1278.
- The access control equipment for the doors
(keypad and locking mechanisms) will be shipped to your
selected manufacturing plant for installation at the
plant. Wiring
and final connection for the access control system from
the backboard will be by others.
- The exterior doors should be aluminum storefront
doors with aluminum stiles and full glass with aluminum
frames.
- The plans call for a perimeter chassis in one
portion of the specifications, then call for I-beam
construction in another portion. Either method is acceptable. In addition, either steel or wood floor joists
are acceptable construction methods.
- There should be three (3) three (3) ton HVAC
units not two (2) as called for in the plans, it should
be one per unit.
- The trailer/commercial coach structure needs to
be placarded under the 1991 State Department of Housing
and Community Development code requirements, however,
all other items need to meet the current Uniform
Building Codes as required under the County.
- The plans call for exterior siding of T1-11, the
County will accept LP innerseal siding as an acceptable
alternative.
- Specifications for ceramic tile were included in
the package, this item was a holdover from a previous
bid and this project does not include any ceramic tile
work.
- The carpet tiles are to be installed in the hold
room, vending area and security screening area. The linoleum is to be placed in the restrooms and utility
room. The
vinyl composition tile is to be placed in the hallway
leading to the restrooms and utility room.
- The canopies shown on the plans over the decks
and ramps will be installed by others. You will be required to provide the electrical
stubs for the lighting that is to be installed in the
canopies by others.
- Permits are required to be pulled by the
Contractor, with the costs covered by the County through
a journal voucher to the Permit Resource and Management
Division.
- Wiring of the 25 pair telephone cable is to be
pulled into the terminal and stubbed at the backboard
with the phone jack cabling terminating at the phone
backboard. In
addition, the speakers for the PA system are to be
installed and wired to the backboard, with the equipment
installed by others.
- The exit door in the hold room without the keypad
controllers shall include an audible alarm mechanism
that is activated when the door is opened. This door will not be connected to the access
control system.
