ADDENDUM NO. 2

I.   Clarifications to various bid specifications and requirements from questions received from contractors:

  • Correction to contact information for the toilet partitions in Section 10171 Part 2, Section 2.1 item B.  This item should be Service Oriented Sales, Attn.:  Max Morgan (714) 662-1278.
  • The access control equipment for the doors (keypad and locking mechanisms) will be shipped to your selected manufacturing plant for installation at the plant.  Wiring and final connection for the access control system from the backboard will be by others.
  • The exterior doors should be aluminum storefront doors with aluminum stiles and full glass with aluminum frames.
  • The plans call for a perimeter chassis in one portion of the specifications, then call for I-beam construction in another portion.  Either method is acceptable.  In addition, either steel or wood floor joists are acceptable construction methods.
  • There should be three (3) three (3) ton HVAC units not two (2) as called for in the plans, it should be one per unit.
  • The trailer/commercial coach structure needs to be placarded under the 1991 State Department of Housing and Community Development code requirements, however, all other items need to meet the current Uniform Building Codes as required under the County.
  • The plans call for exterior siding of T1-11, the County will accept LP innerseal siding as an acceptable alternative.
  • Specifications for ceramic tile were included in the package, this item was a holdover from a previous bid and this project does not include any ceramic tile work.
  • The carpet tiles are to be installed in the hold room, vending area and security screening area.  The linoleum is to be placed in the restrooms and utility room.  The vinyl composition tile is to be placed in the hallway leading to the restrooms and utility room.
  • The canopies shown on the plans over the decks and ramps will be installed by others.  You will be required to provide the electrical stubs for the lighting that is to be installed in the canopies by others.
  • Permits are required to be pulled by the Contractor, with the costs covered by the County through a journal voucher to the Permit Resource and Management Division.
  • Wiring of the 25 pair telephone cable is to be pulled into the terminal and stubbed at the backboard with the phone jack cabling terminating at the phone backboard.  In addition, the speakers for the PA system are to be installed and wired to the backboard, with the equipment installed by others.
  • The exit door in the hold room without the keypad controllers shall include an audible alarm mechanism that is activated when the door is opened.  This door will not be connected to the access control system.
