NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
HANGAR
BUILDINGS
AND
RELATED SITE IMPROVEMENTS
COUNTY PROJECT NO. W09536
Sealed bids will be received at the
office of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, Room
100A, 575 Administration Drive,
Santa Rosa, California 95403 on February 21, 2002, until
the hour of 2:00 p.m. (according to the wall clock in
the reception area of the office of the Clerk of the
Board of Supervisors). They then will be transferred to
the Sonoma County Department of Transportation and
Public Works Meeting Room where they will be
publicly opened and read aloud by the Sonoma County
Director of Transportation and Public Works or his
designee. Said bids will be referred to the Sonoma
County Board of Supervisors for consideration at their
next regularly scheduled meeting.
General Work Description: The work to
be done consists, in general, of constructing five 52' x
63' square executive hangars, and related site
improvements.
No pre-bid walk-through is scheduled
for this project.
The contractor shall possess either a
Class A or a Class B license at the time of contract
award.
Bids are required for the entire work
described herein. This contract is subject to state
contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements
pursuant to Government Code §12990.
Plans, specifications, and proposal
forms for bidding this project can only be obtained at
the Sonoma County Department of Transportation and
Public Works, 2300 County Center Drive, Suite B100,
Santa Rosa, California 95403, upon payment of a
non-refundable printing service charge in the following
amount:
full scale plans, specifications, and
proposal forms = $45.00 (including sales tax)
Contract documents may be examined at
the office of the Airport Manager, 2200 Airport
Boulevard, Santa Rosa, California, 95403, telephone
(707) 565-7243 or at the above Transportation and Public
Works office.
Checks shall be made payable to
the County of Sonoma, and shall be mailed or delivered
in person to the Department of Transportation and Public
Works.

Time for Completion: All contract
work shall be completed within one hundred twenty (120)
calendar days from the date of a Notice to Proceed.
Owner's Rights Reserved: The County
reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive
any informalities or irregularities in the bidding, and
to delete or eliminate entirely any separable unit price
or lump sum item of the proposed project
The successful bidder shall furnish
both a payment bond and a performance bond for the full
amount of the contract.
The County of Sonoma hereby notifies
all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in
any contract entered into pursuant to this
advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will
be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response
to this invitation and will not be discriminated against
on the grounds of race, color, sex, national origin, or
other prohibited basis in consideration for an award
Pursuant to Section 1770 and
following of the Labor Code, the general prevailing rate
of wages has been determined by the Director of the
California Department of Industrial Relations. Bidders
should contact the Department of Industrial Relations at
(415) 972-8628 for General Prevailing Wage Rates on
specific job classifications. Future effective wage
rates which have been predetermined are on file with the
California Department of Industrial Relations and are
referenced but not printed in the General Prevailing
Wage Rates. Bidders are advised that if they intend to
use a craft or classification not on file on the general
wage determinations, they may be required to pay the
wage rate of that craft or classification most closely
related to it as shown in the general determinations.
