 NOTICE TO PLANHOLDERS
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF

HANGAR BUILDINGS
AND
RELATED SITE IMPROVEMENTS

COUNTY PROJECT NO. W09536

ADDENDUM NO. 1

I. Changes to the Special Provisions, Notice to Contractors, Proposal and Contract

    A. Section 00300, BID FORM, page 1, Item 16 description:  Change the work "Gear" to the work "System."

II. Changes to Division III, Special Site Conditions:

A. Page 4, Section 1-1.8, last paragraph, second sentence: Change to read, "The County reserves the right to deduct such costs from any monies due or which may become due the Contractor or its surety."

B. Page 4, Section 1-1.10, second paragraph, first two sentences: Change to read, "Construction stakes will be set at constant offset from the building sides and ends. Interior column lines will also be staked."

C. Page 5, Section 1-1.11, third sentence: After the words "lump sum item," add "number 5."

III.  Changes to Division IV, Technical Specifications

A. Section 2, "Portland Cement Concrete," Section 2-3.1: Replace entire section with the following:

"2-3.1 The cost of hangar foundations and slabs shall be included in Lump Sum Item 12, "Concrete Foundations and Slab," and shall include reinforcement steel, anchor bolts, other embedded items, all material, labor, and all miscellaneous items necessary to complete the work according to the Plans. The cost of slab rock, sand and vapor barrier under the concrete shall be included in Lump Sum Item 11, "Slab Rock, Sand and Vapor Barrier." These prices shall be full compensation for furnishing a complete and finished floor slab and foundation for the building in accordance with the Plans and Specifications."

B. Section 4, "Metal Building," Section 4-1.5.E.1: After the first sentence, add the sentence "Also see General Condition 4.10."

C. Section 4, "Metal Building," Section 4-2.8.B: After the third sentence, delete the rest of the paragraph beginning with the words " Rolling door handles…"

D. Section 4, "Metal Building," Section 4-3.1: Replace entire section with the following:

"4-3.1 The hangar building will be paid for under separate Lump Sum Item 13 ("Pre-Engineered Metal Building & Doors"), Item 14 ("One-Hour Fire Wall - West Face"), Item 15 ("Utility Room Framing"), and Item 16 ("Electric Bi-Fold Door System"). The hangar fire sprinkler system will be paid for as the separate Lump Sum Item 19, "Building Fire Sprinkler System & Alarm Gear." The prices shall include all labor, materials, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete all above slab work according to the Plans and Specifications. Building slabs/foundation work will paid for as separate lump sum items under Specifications Sections 1 and 2."

IV.  Changes to Construction Drawings

A. Sheet 2, Hangar Layout Plan, Grading Note 3: change first sentence to read:

"THE COUNTY SHALL ENLIST THE SERVICES OF A REGISTERED GEOTECH- NICAL ENGINEER TO MONITOR THE PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION OF MATERIALS."

B. Sheet 2, Hangar Layout Plan, Environmental Mitigation Note 8: Delete note. Erosion control, hydroseeding and landscaping are not required for this work.

C. Sheet 3, Utility Plan, SCWA Note 10: Delete note. The construction drawings have already been submitted to the Sonoma County Drainage and Sanitation Division by the engineer during the permit process and will be reviewed by Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA).

D. Sheet 3, Utility Plan, Utility Room Detail B / 3: Add dimension locating eastern face of east wall of utility room at 9'-9" from outside face of concrete of west side of hangar. Also add dimension of southern face of south wall of utility room at 8'-2" from outside face of concrete of north side of hangar.

E. Sheet 3, Utility Plan, Utility Room Detail B / 3: Add note:

"UTILITY ROOM WALL FRAMING SHALL BE METAL STUDS DESIGNED FOR MINIMUM 250 POUNDS PER FOOT BEARING WALL CAPACITY. PROVIDE CEILING FRAMING AT 9'-0" ABOVE FINISH FLOOR. CEILING JOISTS SHALL BE 2x6 DF-L GRADE NO. 2 AT 16" ON CENTERS SPANNING THE ROOM FROM EAST TO WEST. JOISTS AND BLOCKING SHALL BE FASTENED TO THE WALL TOP PLATE WITH APPROVED ANCHORAGE METHOD. PROVIDE 1/2" PLYWOOD SHEATHING ON TOP OF JOISTS. INTERIOR WALL AND CEILING FINISH SHALL BE 1/2" GYPSUM DRYWALL WITH TAPED JOINTS."

V. CLARIFICATIONS

A. Gypsum wallboard for fire-rated wall assembly need only have joints taped with fire-rated tape. Painting is not required.

B. The hangar building is not insulated.

C. Interior wall partitions shall be covered one side with 28-gauge unpainted galvanized steel panels (see Spec. Div. IV, 4-2.2.A). This includes the wall framing for the utility room (steel panels on outside of wall). Interior wall panel framing shall be galvanized steel members designed for non-bearing use (except the utility room) adequate for the required wall height at a manufacturer-specified spacing.

D. Specification Section 4 – Metal Building, paragraph 4-2.8.E.5, last sentence: The sensor may be a flow sensor which activates alarms when a sprinkler head is activated.

E. Drawing 11, Hangar Power, Telecom and Lighting Plan: No wiring, fixtures or receptacles are required for the future bathrooms shown wired to panel "xE-2,4."

Please fill out the "Noted Addenda" of the BID FORM, Section 00300, page 1, verifying your receipt of this Addendum.
