Book 1 of 3, Page SP-11, 4-1.01 "General," third and forth paragraph is deleted and replaced with the following: "The Contract shall be completed by June 1, 2007. The Contractor shall pay to the County of Sonoma the sum of $5,000.00 per day, for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the Contract work after June 1, 2007." B. Book 1 of 3, Page SP-35 and SP-36, 10-1.01, "Order of Work," second and third paragraph is deleted and replaced with the following: "The following shall be the Schedule "A" order of work: A. The first order of work for Schedule "A" shall be to place the order for the pump and equipment. The Contractor shall furnish the Engineer with a statement from the vendor that the order for said equipment has been received and accepted by said vendor, with 15 calendar days of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. B. Pothole existing utilities as shown on the plans and as directed by Engineer. "The following shall be the Schedule "B" and "C" order of work: A. Work elected to be performed by the Contractor on any road within the Schedule B & C areas shall be lime/cement treated and sealed by December 1. The Contractor's attention is directed to Section 7-1.08, "Public Convenience," and 7-1.09, "Public Safety." Nothing in these Special Provisions shall be construed as relieving the Contractor from his responsibility as provided in said Section 7-2.09." C. Book 1 of 3, page SP-69 and SP-70, 10-2.20, "Contaminated Material Disposal," is deleted and replaced with the following: "10-2.20 CONTAMINATED MATERIAL DISPOSAL: Attention is directed to the Materials Information that summarizes the extent, degree and type of contamination in the areas to be excavated. This Material Information is available for review in Book 3 of these specials. All excavated material in areas between Engineer's Station 23+00 to 27+50 on Camino Colegio and Engineer's Station 9+00 to 15+50 on Bodway Parkway, shown on the plans, is considered contaminated and shall be transported to Class III Sanitary Landfill that will accept such material. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT: Quantities of Contaminated Material Disposal shall be measured by the ton for each type of disposal in accordance with paragraph 17 in Section 9-1.01, "Measurement of Quantities," of the Standard Specifications. Full compensation for loading, and hauling of contaminated material including any disposal fees shall be considered as included in the contract prices paid per ton for Contaminated Material Disposal and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore." D. Book 1 of 3, page SP-84 and SP-85, 10-3.20, "Contaminated Material Disposal," is deleted and replaced with the following: "10-3.20 CONTAMINATED MATERIAL DISPOSAL: Attention is directed to the Materials Information that summarizes the extent, degree and type of contamination in the areas to be excavated. This Material Information is available for review in Book 3 of these specials. All excavated material in Engineer's Station 196+00 to 214+50 on East Cotati Avenue and Engineer's Station 46+50 to 49+50 on Sturtevant Drive, shown on the plans, is considered contaminated and shall be transported to Class III Sanitary Landfill that will accept such material. Book 1 of 3, Page EE-3 Page BB-6, and Page BB-31, "Engineer's Estimate," amend Item No. 47B "Contaminated Material Disposal" Quantity to read 4,500.00 TON. G. Book 1 of 3, Page SP-69 10-2.19, "Landscaping," add the following paragraph: "The cost set forth by the Department in the proposal for the flagging item shall be the cost used by all bidders for the purpose of comparison of bids. The Bidder shall not alter the cost set forth." H. Book 1 of 3, Page EE-1, BB-4 and Page BB-30, "Engineer's Estimate" amend Item No. 26A "Landscaping" Units to read FA and Quantity to read $10,000.00. I. Book 1 of 3, Page SP-58, 10-2.03, "Pothole Existing Utility," is deleted and replaced with the following: "10-2.03 POTHOLE EXISTING UTILITY: Contractor shall expose existing utilities as shown on plans for Schedule "A" work. The Contractor shall record the exact location and elevation of all existing utilities as they are exposed where crossing the trenches. A complete set of plans showing all existing utilities uncovered during construction shall be provided by the Contractor at the completion of the project. Pot holing for existing utilities shall be by vacuum truck method only. Backhoe excavation is not allowable. Under this item, the Contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, labor and materials required and pothole existing utilities as shown on the plans for Schedule "A" work, including backfilling, complete in accordance with Drawings and as specified herein." |
