  ADDENDUM NO. 1

I.    Changes to the Special Provisions: 

      A.  Page SP-48, the following section is added: 

SECTION 10-3 "SIGNALS AND LIGHTING" 

10-3.01      DESCRIPTION:  Traffic signals and highway lighting shall conform to the provisions in Section 86, "Signals and Lighting," of the Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions. 

10-3.02      ELECTRICAL SITE WORK:  Electrical site work shall be constructed as shown on the Electrical Site Work detail with the exception that conduits shall be 1" diameter minimum. 

The ends of all conduits shall be sealed with a screw-on plastic cap. 

A copper #12 trace wire and pull rope shall be installed in all empty underground conduits.  Wire and rope shall be coiled in the pull boxes for future use. 

All underground conduit work, including runs to the electrical service locations, shall be installed before the final lift of asphalt and or concrete and landscaping improvements are in place. 

All underground conduits shall be placed in a trench and backfilled with concrete to the depth of the base and surfacing removal. 

The bottom of all pull boxes shall be grouted with concrete. 

10-3.03      PAYMENT:  Full compensation for furnishing and installing Electrical Site Work as shown on the detail, shall be considered as included in the contract lump sum price paid for Electrical Site Work and no additional compensation will be allowed therefore.                               

II.  Changes to the Engineer's Estimate in the Special Provisions and Bidder's Book: 

      A.  Item No. 14, "Electrical Site Plan Work, is added.  The item unit is lump sum.  The item quantity is one.  Please substitute revised pages SP-3, BB-3, and BB-14 to reflect the change. 

Please fill out the Addendum Acknowledgement sheet (page BB-4 of the Bidder's Book) verifying your receipt of this Addendum No.1.
