NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF

  GUERNEVILLE ROAD
AT
WILLOWSIDE ROAD

SIGNALIZATION AND WIDENING PROJECT

COUNTY PROJECT NO. C02417

ADDENDUM NO. 1

I.    Changes to the Contract Specifications: 

A.  Page SP-45, add the following paragraph to Section 10-1.13, "Portable Changeable Message Signs":  The purpose of the portable changeable signs on Guerneville Road is to alert motorists and vehicles of changed conditions of Guerneville Road at Willowside Road when the traffic signals are installed.    

II.  Changes to the Plans:

A.  Sheet 5, Intersection Detail

1.   The culvert at Station 80+99.46 Left labeled "18-inch RCP" shall now be labeled "18-inch CPP" (Corrugated Plastic Pipe).  Said culvert is labeled correctly on Sheet 4 (Plan) and is correctly as "18-inch CPP" on Sheet 8 (Structure & Quantity Summaries and Details) in the quantity summary table titled "Driveway and Field Entrance."  

B.   Sheet 11, Roadside Signs and Striping Diagram

1.      Sheet 11, "Roadside Signs and Striping Diagram," has been revised.  A new Sheet 11 is included with this Addendum No. 1. 

2.   The note on Sheet 11 "THIS SHEET IS BEING PROVIDED FOR BIDDING INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.  A FINAL STRIPING AND SIGNAGE PLAN AND QUANTITY SUMMARIES WILL BE PROVIDED BEFORE FINAL STRIPING AND SIGNAGE IS INSTALLED" is hereby deleted.

      C.  Sheet 12, Striping Quantities and Sign Summary

          1.   Sheet 12, "Striping Quantities and Sign Summary," has been revised.  A new Sheet 12 is included with Addendum No. 1. 

2.   The note on Sheet 12 "THIS SHEET IS BEING PROVIDED FOR BIDDING INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.  A FINAL STRIPING AND SIGNAGE PLAN AND QUANTITY SUMMARIES WILL BE PROVIDED BEFORE FINAL STRIPING AND SIGNAGE IS INSTALLED" is hereby deleted.  

3.   The quantity summary table on Sheet 12 titled "Remove Existing Traffic Stripes and Pavement Markings" is hereby deleted. 

4.   The quantity of "Remove Pavement Markers" changes to 148 in the quantity summary table titled "Remove Pavement Markers" on Sheet 12. 

5.   In the quantity summary table titled "Thermoplastic Traffic Stripes and Pavement Markings" on Sheet 12 the following changes have been made:

a.      The quantity of "4-Inch Line" changes to 1,859 linear feet. 

                b.      There is a new quantity of "8-Inch Line" of 394 linear feet. 

c.      The quantity of "12-Inch Line" changes to 294 linear feet. 

d.      The quantity of "Pavement Markings" changes to 351 square feet. 

6.    In the quantity summary table titled "Place Pavement Markers" on Sheet 12 the following changes have been made:

a.      The quantity of "Non-Reflective (Type AY)" changes to 380 each. 

                b.      The quantity of "Reflective (Type D)" changes to 234 each. 

c.      The quantity of "Reflective (Type G)" changes to 16 each. 

d.      Please note that the total quantity of "Pavement Markers (Reflective)"
                           is 250. 

III. Changes to the Engineers Estimate: 

A.   Delete Item No. 5, "Remove Existing Traffic Stripe"

      B.   Delete Item No. 6, "Remove Existing Pavement Markings"

C.  Item No. 11 (now Item No. 9), "Cold Plane Asphalt Concrete Pavement," the quantity is changed to 1,109. 

D.  Item No. 41 (now Item No. 39), "4-Inch Thermoplastic Traffic Stripe," the quantity is changed to 1,859.

E.   Add New Item No. 40, "8-Inch Thermoplastic Traffic Stripe," (Item Code No. 840506) the quantity is 394. 

F.   Item No. 42 (now Item No. 41), "12-Inch Thermoplastic Traffic Stripe," the quantity is changed to 294. 

G.  Item No. 43 (now Item No. 42), "Thermoplastic Pavement Markings,@ the quantity is changed to 351. 

H.  Item No. 44 (now Item No. 43), "Pavement Markings (Non-Reflective)," the quantity is changed to 380. 

I.    Item No. 45 (now Item No. 44), "Pavement Markings (Reflective)," the quantity is changed to 250. 

The addition of a new item and deletion of old items in the Engineer's Estimate has caused some of the items to renumber.  Please refer to the revised estimates. 

Please replace pages SP-3 and SP-4, BB-3, BB-4, BB-15, and BB-16 with the attached revised pages (Add 1 Rev. SP-3, Add 1 Rev. SP-4, Add 1 Rev. BB-3, Add 1 Rev. BB-4, Add 1 Rev. BB-15, and Add 1 Rev. BB-16) to reflect the changes.
