ADDENDUM NO. 1

I.      Clarification of the Plans:

A.  Sheets 12-15:  "Roadside Signs and Striping Diagram" and "Striping Quantity and Sign Summaries"

Clarification of Plan Sheets 12 to 15:

The note on Sheets 12 to 15, "THIS SHEET IS BEING PROVIDED FOR BIDDING INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.  A FINAL STRIPING AND SIGNAGE PLAN AND QUANTITY SUMMARIES WILL BE PROVIDED BEFORE FINAL STRIPING AND SIGNAGE IS INSTALLED" is still applicable.

Revised Plan Sheets 12 to 15 will NOT be issued with Addendum No. 1 despite changes to roadside signs, striping and pavement marking quantities.  Changes to the roadside signs, striping, and pavement marking quantities are shown in the revised Engineer's Estimate attached with Addendum No. 1.

II.  Changes to the Plans:  

A.  Sheets 17-19, Conduit and Pull Box Plan and Details

Your attention is directed to the box on Sheets 17-19 whose first sentence is "This sheet is being provided for bidding informational purposes only."  This first sentence remains unchanged.  Revise the second sentence to read, "A final CONDUIT AND PULL BOX PLAN and quantity summaries will be provided before final CONDUIT AND PULL BOX PLAN is installed."

Revised Plan Sheets 17 to 19 will NOT be issued with Addendum No. 1.

III. Changes to the Contract Specifications:

A.  Add the following new Section 10-1.15O, "Relocate Roadside Signs" to the contract specifications:

10-1.15O            RELOCATE ROADSIDE SIGN:  Existing roadside signs shall be removed and relocated to the new locations as shown on the plans.

Each roadside sign shall be installed at the new location on the same day that the sign is removed from its original location unless otherwise directed by the Engineer.

The breakaway feature shall be provided as shown on the plans.

Full compensation for relocate roadside sign shall be considered as included in the contract price unit price paid for "Relocate Roadside Sign" and no additional payment will be made therefore.

B.   Add the following new Section 10-1.33, "Dewatering," to the contract specifications:

10-1.33            DEWATERING:  Dewatering shall be done as necessary to remove water from existing drainage facilities.  The Contractor shall submit his proposed method for dewatering five (5) days prior to commencement of work.

It is anticipated that dewatering shall be needed for the existing culverts at Gloria Drive and Metaxa Court and for the existing "bubble-up system" cross-culverts at both Southwood Drive and Leo Drive.

The lump sum price paid for dewatering shall include furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to provide, install, and remove dewatering measures as required to complete the work as shown on the plans and as specified herein.

IV. Changes to the Engineer's Estimate:

A.  The following changes to the Engineer's Estimate have been made:

1.      Add new Item No. 10, "Relocate Roadside Sign," the unit is EA, the quantity is 1.

2.      Item No. 25 (now Item No. 26), "Paving Asphalt (Asphalt Concrete)- AR 4000," the quantity changes to 76.9.

           3.      Item No. 26 (now Item No. 27), "Paving Asphalt (Asphalt Concrete)- 
                   AR 8000," the quantity changes to 134.6.

4.      Item No. 28 (now Item No. 29), "Roadside Signs (Metal Post)," the quantity is changed to 21.0.

5.      Item No. 49 (now Item No. 50), "Thermoplastic Pavement Marking," the quantity is changed to 30.7.

6.      Item No. 51 (now Item No. 52), "Pavement Markers (Non-Reflective)," the quantity is changed to 512.

7.      Item No. 52 (now Item No. 53), "Pavement Markers (Reflective)," the quantity is changed to 106.

8.      Add new Item No. 56, "Dewatering," the unit is LS, the quantity is 1.

The addition of new items in the Engineer's Estimate has caused some of the items to renumber.  Please refer to the revised estimates.

Please replace pages SP-3 and SP-4, BB-3, BB-4, BB-15, BB-16, and BB-17 with the attached revised pages (Rev. Add 1 SP-3, Rev. Add 1 SP-4, Rev. Add 1 BB-3, Rev. Add 1 BB-4, Rev. Add 1 BB-15, Rev. Add 1 BB-16, and Rev. Add 1 BB-17) to reflect the changes.

Please fill out the Addendum Acknowledgement sheet (page BB-5 of the Bidder's Book) verifying your receipt of this Addendum (Addendum No. 1).
