Our Adoptable Animals
Photos of Adoptable Animals are updated throughout the day so be sure to check back frequently to see the animals we have available!
Each year the Shelter cares for thousands of dogs, cats and other animals in need of new homes. Healthy and temperamentally sound pets that have been surrendered by their owners are generally adoptable once they have been examined by our Veterinary Staff.
If you don't find the right companion for you today, please check back
with us often. We update our listings of adoptable animals regularly.
You can also call our Front desk at 565-7100 for the latest information
about our friends looking for new homes.
Most stray cats and dogs become available for adoption to the public four business days after they are received.
With the assistance of our volunteers,
Shelter staff perform temperament evaluations of many of our
animals as part of the adoption process. These evaluations
assist us in trying to make better matches between individual
animals and prospective owners.
All adoptions are made on a first come, first served basis and
are subject to the current fee schedule.

Thanks to a grant from the Paws for Love Foundation, Sonoma County Animal Care and Control is pleased to offer the "Silver Paws for Love" senior-to-senior adoption program. This joint effort encourages the adoption of senior pets by seniors people. The Paws for Love Foundation subsidizes these adoptions, which means adoption fees are waived .
If you are 55 years of age or older, and you adopt a pet age 6 years or older from Sonoma County Animal Care & Control, you may qualify for Silver Paws for Love!
Call 565-7100 for more information, or visit Sonoma County Animal Care & Control at 1247 Century Ct., Santa Rosa CA, on Tuesdays through Saturdays between the hours of 12:00 and 5:30 p.m.
