Sonoma County Probation Camp

"Teaching and mentoring youth today to meet the challenges of tomorrow"

Sonoma County Probation Camp, originally established by the Board of Supervisors and Superior Court in 1955, is the oldest and among the most successful commitment programs in California. Originally a mobile camp, the facility has evolved over the past 50+ years into a 24-bed, 3-phase, residential correctional treatment program.

Mission Statement:

We strive to have the maximum possible constructive impact on the Client, the Community and the Victim, within limits of time and resources available, and concern for public safety.

We value each individual's capacity for growth, and strive to help realize that potential.

Program Description

The program is designed to address anti-social/illegal behavior and thinking patterns in youth, while promoting an acceptance of personal responsibility for their decisions and behavior. This is accomplished through the individual development of academic and vocational skills which are necessary to navigate in modern society. These skills, along with the therapeutic component of the Camp program, provide youth with the tools they need to develop into responsible and productive members of the community.
