Subsequent to the issuance of an online permit, PRMD may determine that additional review or plans are required. If this occurs, the permit will be placed on hold and you will be notified by email of any additional requirements or fees.

In order to avoid unnecessary delays in processing your permit, contractors who obtain online permits are required to use our description standards when describing the work to be performed.

When an online permit application is received, PRMD staff verifies that all necessary information has been provided and screens the application for any potential problems. If no known problems exist the permit will be issued. If a problem is discovered, PRMD staff will contact the applicant.

All work performed under an online permit is subject to inspection. An online permit application received prior to noon on a business day will be processed that day by 5pm to enable an inspection request for the following business day. Inspections can be scheduled by touch tone phone using our automated request system after the permit is issued. The current status of a permit can be found on the Permit Detail Screen.

Although every effort is made to provide complete and accurate information on this website, users are advised to contact appropriate PRMD staff before making project decisions. This may involve contacting more than one section within PRMD (e.g. Building, Plan Check, Zoning, Well & Septic, etc.), since each section implements specific codes or ordinances which may affect your project.
