Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) Subcommittees

On January 29, 2002, the Board of Supervisors approved the Final Work Plan for GP2020. A key recommendation to form several CAC subcommittees was also approved. By forming separate subcommittees and allowing them to focus on different issues during the first 9 months of 2002, the CAC believes it will be possible to address certain complex issues more thoroughly and efficiently. Public participation is critical to the success of the subcommittee process.

Each subcommittee is charged with developing policy options and policy recommendations that will ultimately be brought before the entire CAC for review and consideration. The full CAC will then formulate policy recommendations related to these issues for consideration first by the Planning Commission, and then by the Board of Supervisors.

Five issue areas are being addressed by these subcommittees:

• Circulation and Transit
• Agricultural Processing and Support Services
• Agricultural Tourism
• Riparian Corridors/Biological Habitat
• Water Resources.

The CAC subcommittees are comprised of three CAC members each, meet at publicly noticed locations and times, and have PRMD staff and facilitator support.

Meeting Minutes will be posted when they have been approved by the CAC Subcommittee at the subsequent meeting.
