Street Names & Area IDs

Area IDs (City/Community) are geographic areas within the county that were designated to minimize the occurrence of duplicate addresses within that area. The boundaries follow city limits, but do not otherwise coincide with geopolitical boundaries such as school or fire districts. A more detailed definition can be found on our Area ID map.

You must use the correct Area ID to find permits by address on the Accela Citizen Access™ Permit Manager website. If you enter an incorrect code, you will not obtain any information.

PRMD is responsible for the following items within incorporated city areas;

• Issuance of well and septic permits
• Investigation of alleged code violations related to septic systems
• Plan checking of Records of Survey prepared by a licensed Land Surveyor

This is why both (CITY) and (COUNTY) Area ID listings are in our database. We may also have permit history for parcels that have subsequently been incorporated into a city. Any permits (other than those listed above) which have been issued after a parcel is incorporated will not be found on our site. Please check with the city for permit history subsequent to incorporation.

Tips

Highways are listed by number in our system, not by colloquial names. Examples:

• Gravenstein Highway = HWY 116
• Luther Burbank Memorial Highway = HWY 12
• Redwood Highway = HWY 101
• Sears Point Highway = HWY 37

Numbered Streets are not spelled out. Example:

• Second Street = 2ND ST

There are no spaces or apostrophes in "Mc" "Mac" and "O" streets. Examples:

• MCKINLEY AVE
• MACFARLANE DR
• OBRIEN RD
