Well & Septic Handouts/Forms/Applications

There are some duplicate CNI (Construction Inspection) and BPC (Building Plan Check) handouts due to building code changes that became effective January 1, 2008. The version including an x in the title of the form is to be used only for construction projects that were submitted prior to January 1, 2008. For example: Special Inspection and Testing Procedure, CNI-010x (Pre Jan 1 2008 Projects). For all projects submitted on or after January 1, 2008, refer to the form without an x in the title.

Some of these documents are saved in Portable Document Format (PDF). We recommend you download Adobe® Reader®, a free software that allows you view and print PDF files.

For accessibility assistance with these documents, please contact the Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department (PRMD) at (707) 565-1900.

Please note: Although PRMD is continuously working to maintain these documents, some may not reflect the requirements of the currently adopted, triennial code cycle. Please make use of the revision date in the footer of the document as a guide to identifying the currency of a particular document.

Although every effort is made to provide complete and accurate information on this website, users are advised to contact appropriate Permit Sonoma staff before making project decisions. This may involve contacting more than one section within Permit Sonoma(e.g. Building, Plan Check, Zoning, Well & Septic, etc.) since each section implements specific codes or ordinances which may affect your project.
