CALGreen: Green Building Program [Video]

CALGreen program requirement field verification is now performed by a CALGreen Special Inspector. This video provides general information about the program as well as how to obtain the list of CalGreen certified agencies and inspectors.

Notice: On September 1, 2015, CALGreen field verification shifted from being a duty of a PRMD field inspector, to that of a CALGreen Special Inspector. PRMD made this change due to the ever increasing role of green building standards and also in an effort to more closely align our CALGreen requirements with those of surrounding jurisdictions.  Applicants or owners are responsible for contracting with an approved CALGreen Special Inspection Agency for these services.  Permit applicants submitting plans requiring a CALGreen checklist on or after September 1, 2015 need to use the updated checklist forms that include a field for identifying the chosen CALGreen Special Inspector.  A list of CALGreen Special Inspection Agencies approved to perform services in Sonoma County can be found within our Agency Recognition List.  CALGreen Inspectors who would like to perform services as a Sonoma County CALGreen Special Inspector need to apply using the Application Form.

On January 1, 2014, the 2013 California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) and on July 1, 2014, the California Energy Code became effective throughout California. The County of Sonoma has adopted CALGreen and the California Energy Code. The 2013 CALGreen applies to all newly constructed buildings as well as additions and certain alterations. Please use the customized checklists found below to document compliance with CALGreen.
