Volunteer Recognition
This page is devoted to volunteers who do their part to make Sonoma County Regional Parks a more enjoyable experience for all involved.
Off of Highway 12, near the Glen Ellen turn off, you will find Valorie Waddingham hard at work in the Elizabeth Anne Perrone Dog Park. Valorie regularly visits the park with her dog, "Pal." While Pal plays off-leash with other dogs in the one-acre enclosure, Val spends time making sure that everyone has a great experience. She educates park visitors about the rules, makes sure that the park is free of dog poop, and restocks the bag holders so people can easily clean up after their dogs. She usually spends 20 to 30 hours a month volunteering her time and energy helping make the Dog Park one of the best in the County.
Valorie is also a great spokesperson for the Volunteer Program as well as the Dog Park. Her hard work and good nature have attracted numerous volunteers to our program. She's even got her husband Jim volunteering. So, if you see Valorie out and about in the Elizabeth Anne Perrone Dog Park say hi and ask her about the volunteer program if you're interested.
