Camp Hosts in Sonoma County Regional Parks
Camp Hosts play an integral role in the operation and maintenance of Sonoma County Parks’ campgrounds. Volunteers assist staff by greeting campers, selling firewood, cleaning campsites, restocking bathroom supplies and educating the public about our reservation system. Hosts also help with weed eating, mowing and other light maintenance projects. Camp Hosts have the opportunity to interact with park campers in a fun and relaxed environment. People from all around the United States, including many other countries, regularly spend the night in our campgrounds. This exciting and fun position is a great way to get to know the area.

Hosts are scheduled to work 30 hours a week, with two days off mid-week. How the hosting assignment is accomplished is flexible. We have set hours in the morning and the afternoon but your actual workday will depend on the needs of the campers and the campground. Each host site has water, electricity, and sewer, and most have a phone hook up. All utilities and basic phone service is paid for by Sonoma County Regional Parks. Extra days off are available by request.
Host assignments are quite competitive, with some sites booking out for several years. All hosts must turn in an application, pass an interview and background check and be fingerprinted. In addition, upon arrival you must sign a contract which details the requirements of the position.
If you are interested in hosting please contact John Ryan, Volunteer Coordinator at (707) 565-3356 or parksvolunteer@sonoma-county.org. You can also download an Application and mail it back to:
