Martin Luther King JR. Day of Service - Workday at Foothill Regional Park |
Monday, January 16 is the 26th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday and Day of Service ... a “day on, not a day off.” Sonoma County Regional Parks will join thousands of organizations nationwide in hosting volunteer workdays in their communities.
This year’s Day of Service will be held at Foothill Regional Park in Windsor from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. Participants will help remove invasive plants threatening the park’s oak woodlands and help make repairs to park trails. Volunteers will meet staff at 10 a.m. in the parking lot at 1351 Arata Lane. Tools, gloves, drinks and snacks will be provided.
For more information, contact John Ryan at (707) 565-3356 or john.ryan@sonoma-county.org . Groups of 10 or more volunteers are asked to call and pre-register.
