MAY GUIDED HIKES AT TOLAY LAKE REGIONAL PARK |
Sonoma County Regional Parks invites you to take a guided hike of the future Tolay Lake Regional Park on one of the following dates:
East Ridge hike on Saturday, May 2nd from 9am –noon
This hike is approximately 7 miles and will take about 3 hours. We will begin the hike at the ranch compound and hike across the lake bed on farm roads, passing the vineyards and up to the East Ridge where the views of San Francisco Bay Area are outstanding. We will look for raptors and a wide variety of wild flowers. From the view point we will hike off trail with uneven footing. This hike is not for inexperienced hikers - you must be in good physical condition.
West Ridge hike on Sunday, May 17th from 10am to noon
Hike with staff to the West Ridge to enjoy wildflowers and views. Learn about this incredible property and its history. This hike will be moderately strenuous.
- Note: You are advised to wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and long pants on these hikes.
- Please, no pets.
- Although children are welcome on the tours, please note that the terrain on the walk is too rugged for most strollers.
- Please bring adequate water and food for your party, as these will not be provided.
- Remember to dress appropriately for the weather: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, layered clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended. Walking sticks or trekking poles are useful. A restroom will be available at the starting location of the hike.
Inclement weather will cancel the tour. A message with information regarding the current status of the tour (to go on as scheduled or not) will be available on the Regional Parks Special Events Hotline (707) 565-2730 the morning of the tour.
Hiking tours allow a limited number of participants, and reservations are mandatory. Please call the Regional Parks Special Events Hotline at (707) 565-2730 to make a reservation, and leave a message including:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Email address (or mailing address)
- Number of people in your vehicle
After requesting the reservation, you will receive a confirmation, which will include more detailed information. Note: Tours fill quickly.
