HELP BUILD CAMPSITE AT HOOD MOUNTAIN |
Help Sonoma County Regional Parks construct a new backpacking site in Hood Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve. A volunteer workday will be held on Thursday, February 19th from 9am – 1pm.
This new campsite was funded through a generous grant from REI Santa Rosa. The campsite will be open to the public in the fall of 2009. With guidance from park staff, volunteers are taking the lead role in constructing the campsite and related amenities.
Regional Parks will provide gloves, tools, water and snacks. Volunteers should dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring sunscreen, a water bottle and a hat. The work is moderately strenuous and there is a short hike to the worksite. Call John Ryan at 707-565-3356 to RSVP and receive directions to the meeting place. Day use fees are waived for volunteers.
