BILINGUAL “KIDS’ EARTH DAY” IN SONOMA |
Come join your friends and neighbors at “Kid’s Earth Day / Homenaje a la Tierra para Niños” on Sunday, April 20 from noon to 4pm at Maxwell Farms Regional Park in Sonoma.
This free bilingual event offers children and their families an opportunities to play nature games, make fun crafts, go through a giant maze, and learn about recycling, pollution, clean water and what they can do to keep their town clean. There will also be Parks’ staff-led hikes and explorations.
Special thanks to the following for their support and participation: Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation, The City of Sonoma, Sonoma Count Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, Sonoma County Integrated Waste, Sonoma County Water Agency, Sonoma County Environmental Health, North Bay Corporation, Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, North Bay Herpetological Society, and Boys and Girls Club Valley of the Moon.
Maxwell Farms Regional Park is located at 100 Verano Avenue in Sonoma. Parking fee of $5 per car applies. More information on this and the other free events during Park Celebration 2008 can be found online at www.sonoma-county.org/parks or by calling (707) 565-2041 weekdays.
