WATSON SCHOOL 150TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION SEPTEMBER 30, 2006 |

Come join former students and local historians at the 150th Anniversary Celebration of Watson School in Bodega from 1pm – 4pm on Saturday, September 30th.
Built in 1856 and used as a schoolhouse for over a century, Watson School is characteristic of early one-room schoolhouses: bell tower, double doors and slate blackboard. Its sloping floor, however, is atypical.
To celebrate the school’s 150th anniversary, and kick off the building restoration fund-raising campaign, the Regional Parks Department is hosting a celebration. Bring your family and friends to this free event featuring:
- Informational displays and presentations
- A peek inside the school
- Storyteller’s corner
- Old-fashioned children’s games
- Live old-time fiddle music with The Road Oilers
- Hand-made ice cream and cupcakes
Watson School is located at Running Fence Regional Park, 15000 Bodega Highway – just east of the town of Bodega. For additional information on this event, contact Sonoma County Regional Parks at 565-1354.
