EXPLORE-N-MORE! AT THE ENVIRONMENTAL DISCOVERY CENTER |
There are more ways than ever to keep your cool this summer at Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa. The Environmental Discovery Center of Sonoma County (EDC) presents Explore -n- More! - a self-paced, drop-in exhibit running through August 27, focusing on water conservation and summer safety issues including food, water, fire, boating, biking, hiking and camping.
The EDC is partnering with local agencies to provide fun, interactive, educational programs for children ages 5-12. The creative activities include crafts, games, art and nature. Everyone can see tidepool animals up-close, plus a huge tank full of creatures from Spring Lake. Visitors can take a nature walk and learn about the many uses for plants in the park.
The EDC is open noon-5pm Wednesday - Sunday. It is located just inside the Violetti Road entrance to the park. Admission to the EDC is free with paid parking. For more information on programs and volunteer opportunities with the EDC, call (707) 539-2865. Visit the Regional Parks website at www.sonoma-county.org/parks for information on your County parks.
