Sonoma County Regional Parks is proud to kick off a month-long celebration of the County Parks with a 2-day salmon derby in Bodega Bay. The Derby will take place on the opening weekend of sport fishing season for salmon, April 2-3, 2005. 

Weigh-ins will take place from noon to 6pm at the Bodega Bay Sportfishing Center, located at 1500 Bay Flat Road, and from 5am to 6pm at Will’s Bait & Tackle at 1580 Eastshore Road, Suite J, both in Bodega Bay. The prize of your choice will be awarded for the largest catch. All other weigh-ins are eligible for prize drawing on April 6, 2005. Winners will be contacted for prize redemption.

Derby prizes include: $100 gift certificate for the Outdoor Pro Shop, Yamaha tackle box at Guenter’s Outboards, salmon charter for two on the ProFish’nt, two whale watching tickets and two salmon fishing tickets for the Sea Angler out of the Bodega Bay Sportfishing Center, an overnight stay at the Bodega Harbor Inn and The Tides, four nights of camping in the regional parks, 4 lashers and 4 bait head fishing harnesses from Bechold & Son Flasher & Lure Co., lunch at Spud Point Crab Co., free berthing, sweatshirts and wool hats from Spud Point Marina, and a Shakespeare “Ugly Stick” fishing rod from Will’s Bait & Tackle.
