Macdougald Skateboard Park
Don't forget your safety
gear!
|
Located inside
Maxwell Park, the skateboard park cost approximately $130,000 to construct, $72,666
of which was from a Sonoma County Community Partnerships for Youth (CPY) grant
administered through the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department. Numerous donors,
public and private, gave cash materials and services - including volunteer work
to the project. The City of Sonoma, the Sonoma Skate Society and Sonoma County
Regional Parks partnered to build the skateboard facility. For further information
regarding the Skateboard Park, call John Guerney at (707) 996-3602. |
Valley of the Moon Boys & Girls
Club |
 |
Also located inside Maxwell Park is the Valley of the Moon Boys and Girls Club. The club is a 23,000 sq. ft. multi-use
facility serving children throughout the Sonoma Valley. Its activities include:
sports, computer skills, tutoring and art. The club opened in January 2000, and
can be called at (707) 938-8544.
The facility was built through a Community
Partnerships for Youth grant and fund raised by the community. The Valley of the
Moon Boys and Girls Club leases the land the building is on. |
