FEMA Los Alamos Road Entrance Repair Project

The New Years Flood of 2005-06 damaged the Los Alamos Road park driveway resulting in the closure of the lower parking lot. In August 2011, FEMA and Sonoma County Regional Parks reached an agreement for FEMA to fund the repair. The project description includes a new approximately 335 feet long soldier pile and lagging retaining wall with tie backs. The road will be the same width and approximate footprint.

The project is currently in design and environmental analysis. Provided additional FEMA approvals are obtained for final construction plans, the construction of the repair is anticipated to go to bid in the summer of 2012. Preliminary construction estimates are between $500,000-900,000. Invitations to bid will be sent to local builders exchanges and published in the Press Democrat. More scheduling information will be posted here in the spring.
