Located inside Maxwell Park, the skateboard park cost approximately $130,000 to construct, $72,666 of which was from a Sonoma County Community Partnerships for Youth (CPY) grant administered through the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department. Numerous donors, public and private, gave cash materials and services - including volunteer work to the project. The City of Sonoma, the Sonoma Skate Society and Sonoma County Regional Parks partnered to build the skateboard facility.
