Sea Ranch Access Trails

Sea Ranch, along Highway 1, south of the Sonoma Mendocino County Line

What you need to know:

Hours

Opening hours vary from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. seasonally. Closed at sunset.

Parking

$5.00 per vehicle for day use. Special rates apply to buses or trucks carrying more than 9 people.

Restrictions

No campfires are allowed on the beach. No bicycles allowed on Bluff Top Trail from Walk On to Gualala Point Park.

Dogs

Permitted on leash no longer than 6' in length.

Highlights

Six Sea Ranch access trails provide trailhead parking areas, restrooms and a short hike to outstanding coastal access points. Each of the six access trails provides access to the beaches by footpaths, staircases or trails. Maintenance is limited at sites, so please carry out your own litter and report any problems that you may see. Visitors are urged to respect private property.

Safety Alert: Watch out for sleeper waves which are common along the north coast.

The Sea Ranch Coastal Access trails are:

  • Black Point
  • Bluff Top Trail (3 miles from Walk on Beach to Gualala Point Park)
  • Pebble Beach
  • Stengal Beach
  • Shell Beach
  • Walk on Beach

The trails are clearly marked from Highway 1. Visitors should use caution while turning off of Highway 1 to get in and out of the access trails parking lots. RV's and vehicles with trailers are not allowed to use the parking areas. Parking is limited at Shell and Pebble Beach parking lots. For additional information, please call (707) 785-2377.
