The HRMS Project Team has moved!

On July 1, 2009 the HRMS Project Team moved to a new location. Our new address is 3569 Round Barn Circle, Suite 120. The office will accommodate the project team and a training room that will be used for end-user training.

As soon as we are settled, we’ll invite you to come visit our new space!

Project Update

The HRMS Project Team continues to work with our selected vendor, High Line Corporation, to review the County’s current business processes and evaluate the High Line system’s functionality. Following that evaluation the project team will be holding Project Update Sessions to review (at a high level) how the system will support the County’s business needs.

There will be many business process improvements that will come as a result of implementing the HRMS. The majority of our current Human Resources and Payroll related processes will become much more efficient. In addition to the business process improvements that we will achieve through the system, we have determined that some of the County’s processes will require a re-engineering effort in order to move toward a best practices approach.

Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) is the streamlining of processes in order to improve performance, gain efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate redundancies. It represents an approach for redesigning the way work is done to better support the County’s mission and reduce costs.

We have identified the key business areas that will be re-engineered as part of the project. They are:

Phase 1: Timing – Spring/Fall 2010

  • New Hire Process
  • Benefit Administration
  • Position Allocation Changes
  • Position Control
  • Essential Functions Worksheet
  • Leave Management

Phase 2: Timing – Post Fall 2010

  • Discipline Tracking
  • Employee Records (personnel files)
  • Training – License and Certification Tracking
  • Leave Management and Return to Work

We will continue to provide updates as the project progresses and provide you with the details of these changes. At this time the HRMS Steering Committee has requested feedback from Department/Agency Heads and selected staff on the above changes.

Timeline of project showing the procurement phase has ended and the implementation phase has begun. Project completion is expected in October 2010.
