Project Background

What is an HRMS?

A human resources management system is an automated system designed to store, track and utilize employee demographic, position, salary, and payroll data. The overall goal of the HRMS is to improve enterprise-wide decision-support and improve operational efficiency.

Background

  • August 2007 – The Board of Supervisors approved the initial step in obtaining a new system, which is the software selection phase of the HRMS project.
  • September 2007 – Software Selection Phase Kick-Off
  • November 2007 – Use cases and business process inventory created by stakeholder departments in focus group sessions
  • February 2008 – A Request for Proposal (RFP) was released electronically to a broad group of vendors
  • May 2008 – A select group of vendors were brought onsite for demonstrations of their proposed system solutions
  • August 2008 – The Board of Supervisors approved the Steering Committee’s recommendation to move forward with the project to procure a system solution.
  • January 2009 – The Board of Supervisors approved the Steering Committee’s recommendation to contract with High Line Corporation as the HRMS selected vendor.
