Human Resources Employee Relations Division

The Human Resources Department's Employee Relations Division provides major services to County departments and management including:

  • Negotiates contracts with unions/organizations representing employees.
  • Interprets employment contract language.
  • Processes/resolves formal employee grievances.
  • Support for department-level methods to resolve employee conflict.
  • Conducts data research, salary and benefits surveys.
  • Liaison with unions on employee relations issues.
  • Supports an informal County Mediation Program.
  • Facilitates labor/management committees and other interest-based processes.
  • Makes decisions regarding employee representation and unit determination issues.
