Alcohol and Other Drug PreventionMore...
The Alcohol and Other Drug program funds prevention activities through contracts with a network of community based agencies through three specific pathways as outlined below: Nearly 30 distinct alcohol and other drug prevention programs provide education in schools, diversion programs for young offenders, family skills training, and programs that foster youth development. The Program partners with local government, law enforcement and community groups to develop and implement prevention strategies to reduce community alcohol and other drug problems. It also serves as a resource for alcohol and drug prevention information, training and support to the general public, professionals and community volunteers. The Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Program provides targeted parent education and support to Latino parents of at-risk adolescents through community-based contract providers. The State Incentive Grant project works to reduce high-risk drinking
behaviors among youth and young adults in the communities of Rohnert Park,
Cotati and Petaluma.
