Breastfeeding Walk 2007

In celebration of Breastfeeding Awareness Month, Sonoma County breastfeeding advocates are participating in the statewide Breastfeeding Walk 2007 to celebrate breastfeeding as a first step to a healthy life.

To participate, meet at one of these locations at 12:00 noon on Tuesday August 7th:

Healdsburg:
  1381 University Avenue

Santa Rosa:
  583 Summerfield Road
575 Administration Drive (or 11:45 a.m. at Fiscal and Administration Drive)
  144 Stony Point Road
  401 Bicentennial Way

Sebastopol:
  Ives Park

Studies have documented the role of breastfeeding in preventing childhood obesity and other illness. The greatest protection is seen when breastfeeding is used exclusively, no formula or solid foods, and continues for at least the first 6 months of life.

Contact the Sonoma County Breastfeeding Coalition at 707-576-4857 or 565-4554 for more information.
