International Travel Clinic: Before Your Appointment
Hot Links
There is no surefire way to guarantee safe and illness-free travel; however, education and planning will be your best defense. Take some time to complete these tasks in preparation for your appointment.
- Request an appointment at the clinic. Allow at least one hour for your visit, which will include a consultation with a travel advisor and a review of your travel itinerary.
- Learn about your destination, and familiarize yourself with the various health issues you could encounter and the vaccinations recommended for the region you are visiting.
- Read about the risks associated with the vaccinations you will be requesting. At your appointment, you will be given a copy of the Vaccine Information Statement for each vaccination you receive; reviewing the information before your appointment will help you think of any questions you may want to ask the clinician.
- Estimate the costs of your vaccinations. Patients pay for the cost of the vaccinations and a fee for the medical consultation.
- Locate your vaccination/immunization records, and bring them with you to your appointment.
- Print the directions to the clinic, located at 3420 Chanate Road in Santa Rosa.
