The Alcohol and Other Drug Program works in concert with local community based organizations, community partners, and government agencies to promote a healthy Sonoma County. The program uses a continuum of prevention strategies to support overall community well-being through the prevention of alcohol and drug use.

The mission of Friday Night Live/Club Live is to build partnerships for positive and healthy youth development that engage youth as active leaders and resources in their communities. Local Friday Night Live (FNL) chapters implement youth-led environmental prevention strategies to reduce underage drinking use and related problems in Sonoma County.
As part of a broader alcohol and drug prevention initiative taken on by the Department, the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Program supports prevention efforts focused on emerging alcohol and drug issues facing the community.
The Successful Aging Sonoma County Initiative (SASCI) Coalition was formed to increase public awareness of substance misuse/abuse among older adults; improve the ability of caregivers and health care providers to identify potential substance abuse; and, increase the capacity of the treatment community to effectively address substance abuse in the aging adult population.
