Government & Non-Profit Agencies

Sonoma County Energy Watch is dedicated to helping government agencies and nonprofits achieve the greatest possible greenhouse gas and energy consumption reduction. We can help you identify savings opportunities so that less money goes towards utility bills, and more goes toward your mission.

Our Energy Efficiency Services Include:

Free Energy Audit

SCEW, in partnership with the Energy Alliance Association, will provide no-cost, no-obligation lighting audits at your facilities to determine opportunities for savings. Upon completion of an audit your facility will receive an Energy and Cost Savings Report detailing the project cost, available rebates, energy savings, greenhouse gas emissions reductions and an estimated payback period.

Direct Install Services

SCEW provides turnkey upgrades for local governments, special districts, and non-profit agencies. Lighting upgrades services are a core service and many upgrades can be offered at low or no cost to customers. Additional measures available include heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) tune-up services, lighting sensor installation, and the installation of "vending machine misers."

Incentives and Rebates

The SCEW program offers rebates for lighting projects that are three times higher than if you were to approach PG&E directly. Core program rebates are also available for projects that reduce natural gas use. Building retrofit measures, including HVAC, boiler, chiller, and other infrastructure improvements may also receive rebates.

SCEW will assist our customers in the preparation and submission of all documentation required to receive rebate and incentive payments for any project work undertaken in the program.

Energy Efficiency Consulting

SCEW will provide free technical consultation and best practices advice in the area of energy efficiency and conservation reduction.

Financial consultation for low interest loans

There are several zero and low interest loans available to assist you in your upgrades. PG&E now has a 0% interest loan on projects that pay back in less than 10 years, and the California Energy Commission (CEC) has a 3% interest loan on projects that pay back in less than 15 years. Our team can assist you in finding the funding and financing you need to implement your energy project.

Retro-commissioning

PG&E has a program designed to optimize the operations of any buildings which use advanced HVAC and other system controls – we will provide you with an evaluation and consulting services regarding the program.

Demand Reduction

Save on utility expenses through a demand reduction strategy which reduces your consumption at peak periods. Consultations and information on these programs will be provided by SCEW.
