Welcome Letter
Dear Filmmaker :
For over 50 years Sonoma County has played gracious host to
the film industry. From "Frenchman's Creek" in the
early 40's to the Twentieth Century Fox production of "Cheaper
By the Dozen" in 2003, Sonoma County has been home to as
wide a variety of movies as varied locations offer. Our diversity
is evident from the breathtaking Sonoma coastline, which boasts
everything from sandy beaches to jagged cliffs, the beautiful
vineyards that cover our hills and valleys, the ethereal redwood
forest, placid lakes, meandering country roads, historic bridges
and picturesque rural villages.
You will find the Sonoma County Film Office to be helpful, knowledgeable
and responsive in making your stay in Sonoma County most productive.
With our southern border only 45 minutes from the Golden Gate
Bridge, Sonoma County is easily accessible.
The office offers a variety of services. It can help cut through
red tape and act as a liaison between your production and the
various municipal, governmental agencies in Sonoma County, as
well as provide connections with its varied distinctive neighborhoods,
and "small town" business districts. We can advise
you of locations and put you in touch with the many talented
industry professionals who call Sonoma County their home.
Sonoma County is the wine country and much more. Our film office
is here to make sure you have access to what you need. We invite
you to come "drink in" our locations.
Sincerely,
Sonoma County Board of Supervisors
