Customer Service Unit"The mission of the Customer Service Unit is to provide immediate assistance, information and/or referral to people seeking assistance or information from the Sonoma County Department of Child Support Services. The Customer Service Unit (CSU) has been working hard to serve the public since its inception on May 15, 2001. The CSU works to improve responsiveness to the public through increased first line response, reduction of phone and walk-in wait time, easier access to and understanding of child support services, expanded referral service to appropriate agencies for other services, improved communications of policies and procedures, and expanded customer service training office-wide. The CSU staff is made up of senior level Child Support Officers who have a wide range of knowledge and extensive experience in handling Child Support files and information. Because primary responsibility for each case still lies with the assigned case manager, you, as a non-custodial parent or custodial party, will be connected to your case manager first. However, if the case manager is not immediately available, a customer service officer will take your calls or meet with you if you come to the office and answer whatever questions you have. If they don't know the answer, they know how to find it! (Note: It is still best if you call and schedule an appointment with your caseworker ahead of time this will ensure that the person who is most familiar with the case will be available to assist you.) CSU staff exclusively handle certain kinds of issues. When your contact is about those issues, you will be put directly through to the CSU. CSU specific issues include licensing suspensions, passport suspensions, credit reporting disputes, and Franchise Tax Board actions. To contact your case worker or to contact CSU regarding the issues listed
above, please call us at (707) 565-4000. < Back to Programs and Services Main Page
