Community Room

Santa Rosa, CA 95403

Recognizing the community impacts of drunk driving and other alcohol involved crimes, District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua will introduce a new program: SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor). In partnership with California Human Development (CHD), a local non-profit, and Leaders in Community Alternatives (LCA), a Bay Area community corrections organization, a new program is being implemented to continuously monitor multiple DUI offenders and other persons whose crimes are alcohol related. Participants will be fitted with ankle bracelets which measure alcohol readings every thirty minutes through the skin.

This is the first program of its kind in the San Francisco Bay Area to be brought to the community by a District Attorney’s Office.

Helping to introduce the program will be Linda Connelly, President of Leaders in Community Alternatives, a representative of the company that manufactures the monitor, and a current participant in the SCRAM program to further describe how the program operates, including benefits of the program.

A representative from the manufacturer of the device will be on hand and a question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Additional materials will also be available including B-Roll footage of the SCRAM Bracelet in BETA format.
