JURY RETURNS GUILTY VERDICT IN PETALUMA MURDER
Sonoma County District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced that Bradley Blackwell was convicted by jury of First Degree Murder in the shooting death of Uriel Carreno.
It took a jury of ten women and two men less than one day to find Bradley Blackwell guilty of First degree murder and also found true two special circumstances.
The victim, Uriel Carrenon was gunned down in his apartment in Petaluma on February 7, 2007. The evidence at trial showed that defendants Bradley Blackwell and Keith Kellum went to Petaluma during the afternoon of February 7, 2007, and forced their way into the victim=s home. Mr. Carreno was shot a total of five times killing him instantly.
Mr. Blackwell faces a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
A hearing date is scheduled for mid May regarding sentencing.
Deputy District Attorneys Troye Shaffer and Charles Arden prosecuted the case.
