GRAND THEFT CHARGES ADMITTED IN AGILENT CASE
District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced today that Timothy Webb of Santa Rosa pled guilty to felony burglary and grand theft charges. Webb also admitted an allegation that the grand theft charge involved the taking of items valued at more than $100,000. Webb entered his pleas today before Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Arthur Wick.
Webb, 36, was arrested after being identified as an individual who had entered onto the Santa Rosa campus of Agilent Technologies on February 24, 2007. A subsequent investigation by the Santa Rosa Police Department revealed that Webb, a former Agilent employee, had been operating an online auction business selling high tech Agilent branded items. Upon serving a search warrant at Webb’s Santa Rosa home police seized large amounts of high end electronic equipment believed to have been stolen from Agilent while Webb was an employee, as well as records relating to the online business.
Webb’s attorney, Jamie Thistlethwaite, asked that sentencing be delayed until a restitution hearing is held on July 10. In addition to being ordered to pay restitution to Agilent, Webb could be sentenced to a term in the State Prison of up to 3 years, 8 months.
