JURY RETURNS GUILTY VERDICT IN GLEN ELLEN SEXUAL ASSAULT TRIAL
District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced today the successful prosecution of Defendant Isidro Rojas Molina. District Attorney Passalacqua stated, "I am hopeful this conviction will send a message that people who sexually assault members of our community will be held accountable for their actions".
On November 1, 2007, a Sonoma County Jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts in the Isidro Rojas Molina case. Defendant Molina was charged with assault to commit rape, sexual battery, and sexual penetration by a foreign object. The case was prosecuted by DDA Marianna Green.
On May 5, 2006 Jane Doe went to a gathering of friends at an apartment in Glen Ellen where she met Defendant Molina for the first time. They left the gathering and he took her to an unpaved area underneath a bridge where he accosted and sexually assaulted her. Eventually, she was able to break free and immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Department.
Sentencing is set for December 13, 2007 at 9 a.m. in Department 4 by the Honorable Rene Chouteau. Defendant Molina is facing 10 years, 4 months in prison.
