CHILD MOLESTER SENTENCED TO PRISON
District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced today that defendant Henry Kremer, age 49, was sentenced to six years in state prison today by Superior Court Judge Gayle Guynup. On November 7, 2006, Kremer pled guilty to two felony counts of committing Lewd and Lascivious Acts on a child under the age of fourteen.
District Attorney Passalacqua stated, "Judge Guynup’s prison sentence for this defendant was appropriate. The defendant gained the trust of the victim and her family, violated that trust and sexually molest this child."
Kremer committed the sexual acts against a twelve-year-old female victim. He was known to the victim and her family because he acted as a wrestling instructor for the victim, as well as other youngsters. At the sentencing hearing, the victim’s mother told the judge, "He gained our trust and he was good at it. He wasn’t there to help the children, he was there to get at the children."
Under the law, the defendant will be required to serve 85 percent of his six year sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Deputy District Attorney Marianna Green was the assigned prosecutor on the case.
