TALENTED POLICE OFFICERS JOIN DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE

District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua announced today that he has hired two Sonoma County peace officers to join the District Attorney Bureau of Investigations. Detective Denise Urton of the Petaluma Police Department and Lieutenant Brian Davis of the Santa Rosa Police Department have left their agencies to become District Attorney Investigators.

Denise Urton has 14 years experience as a police officer and detective with the Petaluma and Capitola Police Departments. She has conducted criminal investigations in cases involving homicide, robbery, sexual assault, kidnapping, domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse, hate crimes, and internet crimes. She has also conducted public safety background investigations and officer involved critical incident investigations. In 2006, Ms. Urton was recognized and honored as the Sonoma County Peace Officer of the Year.

Brian Davis has 27 years experience as a police officer, sergeant and lieutenant with Santa Rosa Police Department. He has worked as a detective in homicide, robbery, and felony assault cases, as well as sexual assault and family violence cases. He also has been involved in several investigations concerning the review of officer involved critical incidents and has a background as a traffic accident investigator. Mr. Davis earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Sonoma State University.
