A Sonoma County jury returned guilty verdicts this week in the case of People v. Randall Honore Fanucchi. The jury convicted Fanucchi of Elder Fraud and Forgery. He altered a check that was given to him by his eighty-seven year old grandmother. At the time, he was the caretaker for his elderly grandmother.
The jury also convicted Fanucchi of Grand Theft and Vandalism in the taking of property belonging to his father and for the damage of two trailers owned by his father.
Sentencing is set for August 23, 2005 before Superior Court Judge Elliot Lee Daum, who presided over the trial. The defendant faces a maximum sentence of three years and eight months for the felony convictions and two years for the misdemeanor violations.
Deputy District Attorney Jason Riehl was the prosecutor assigned to the case. He was assisted by Sonoma County Sheriff Deputy Evans Sulme and District Attorney Investigator Bob Simerson.
