Once again the employees of the Sonoma County District Attorney’s office contributed enough food items to provide an estimated 600 meals for Sonoma County citizens in need.
The annual holiday event during the months of November and December collected 827 pounds of food for the Redwood Empire Food Bank. There are over 49,000 people who are served by the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
The 2004 Holiday Food Drive marked the fifth consecutive year that District Attorney employees have made contributions. Organizer, Lacey Green, works closely with staff to make the event a success each year. Posters are displayed and weekly announcements are made to notify staff of the donation progress. It is a very positive event. This year several employees individually donated in excess of 80 canned food items. Some of the items included soups, canned tuna, pasta and beans.
Ms. Green stated, “It is an awesome experience to be able to assist the food bank each year.” This year she was helped by fellow employees Annie Carter, Jeannie Barnes, and Scott Stewart.
