A Sonoma County jury returned a verdict of guilty against Lemar
Randall for the robbery of a vending machine collector. Randall forcibly
grabbed over eight hundred dollars in quarters from Dana Devon as
he was collecting them from the arcade games at Tube Town in Rohnert
Park. The victim unsuccessfully chased Randall in an effort to recover
the money. A second man assisting Randall was never identified.
Randall was found the next afternoon at his home in Richmond with
two hundred and eighty dollars in twenty dollar bills. In his trial
testimony, Randall claimed that he was at home asleep when the
crime occurred. The jury deliberated for two hours before returning
the guilty verdict. Mr. Randall faces a sentence up to five years
in State Prison.
The trial was held in the courtroom of Superior Court Judge Gary Nadler. Sentencing is set to occur on July 16, 2004. Deputy District Attorney Bridget Hannigan represented the People. She was assisted by Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Detective Larae Archibald, District Attorney Investigator Bob Simerson and District Attorney Legal Assistant Dava Kohlman.
