Sonoma County Hires Prosecutor Diana Gomez

Sonoma County District Attorney Stephan R. Passalacqua announced today the hiring of prosecutor Diana Gomez. “We are very pleased to have a person with her background and experience join our office”, said District Attorney Passalacqua. Her selection comes after a lengthy recruitment process involving an oral board consisting of Santa Clara District Attorney George Kennedy and Riverside County Chief Deputy District Attorney Rod Pacheco.

George Kennedy is past president of the California District Attorneys Association and a former director of the National District Attorneys Association. Rod Pacheco is a veteran prosecutor who served three terms with the California State Assembly, where he was named Legislator of the Year from numerous organizations including, Crime Victims United and the California District Attorneys Association. Both District Attorney Kennedy and Chief Deputy Pacheco highly recommended Gomez.

Diana Gomez has prior employment with Vallejo City Attorney’s Office and with Orange County District Attorney’s Office where she obtained extensive jury trial experience with gang and homicide cases. Gomez is a graduate of California State University Fullerton and Santa Clara University School of Law.
