Sonoma County Deputy District Attorney Gary Medvigy, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves, was mobilized in April of this year as the commander of the 14th Psychological Operations Battalion. On October 4th he returned from the Persian Gulf region and was promoted to the rank of Colonel. Colonel Medvigy will be reassigned to the 351st Civil Affairs Command and return to the Gulf region.
Medvigy recently presented District Attorney Stephan Passalacqua and his staff with an American Flag that was flown aboard an EC-130E Commando Solo aircraft during a combat mission in the Persian Gulf region. He has been a deputy district attorney for Sonoma County since November, 1988. As a senior deputy, he has prosecuted several defendants charged with serious and violent felonies, including homicide and child molestation. His colleagues in the district attorney’s office congratulate him on his promotion and anxiously await his return.
