THE HONORABLE ELLIOT DAUM SENTENCED DAVID ALLEN SIMPSON TO
FIVE YEARS IN STATE PRISON AND ORDERED HIM TO MAKE RESTITUTION

David Allen Simpson was charged by the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office with theft from an elder citizen, an 87 year old woman living alone in Santa Rosa. Simpson had stolen checks from the elder while doing work at her house for which he was paid. About $1650.00 in stolen checks were cashed during May and June of 2002. Simpson was convicted of violation of section 368(d) of the Penal Code–theft from a person over 65 years old. On January 10, 2003, the Honorable Elliot Daum sentenced the defendant to five years in state prison and ordered him to make restitution. The Property Crimes Unit of the Santa Rosa Police Department handled the investigation.
