Crime Crushers

Welcome

Welcome to a new program of education and training in crime prevention techniques for Sonoma County businesses. Established by the Business Crime Prevention Task Force in conjunction with public safety departments throughout the county, the business community, and the Sonoma County Economic Development Board, this Business Crime Prevention web site is an interactive and proactive response to a rising rate of business criminal activity. The program was created with the following objectives in mind:

  • To prevent crime from increasing in the commercial sector, this program will promote training employees and managers in all aspects of business crime prevention.
  • To educate business owners and employees so repeat victimization does not occur, this program helps educate staff and aids in site assessment to increase awareness and prevent potential trouble.
  • To counteract the public's impression of an unsafe business community, this program actively promotes business crime prevention to enhance public confidence.

By providing education and training, together with a working partnership between law enforcement and business, we can make our communities safer for everyone. Knowing what to do in unsafe or criminal situations can decrease danger, increase the chances of catching criminals, and prevent a crime from occurring.

This Sonoma County Business Crime Prevention site may be used as a resource and a reference guide. By reviewing the standard precautions against crime and violence and by creating a personalized set of security procedures to deal with possible criminal situations at your business, you can help raise awareness and add a strong sense of confidence and security among your staff and your customers.
